Training Odessy: Crossfit

For those of you who don't know what Crossfit is take a look at www.crossfit.com !

In short its a culmination of common sense, scientific data and evidence of how to become not just fit but Crossfit.

I had the privilege of attending the first Australian seminar this month and it was great!
There was so much to learn and take away from the experience that I'm still now sorting through my brain :-)

The most interesting things I took away from the seminar was the importance of nutrition... it seems even though I knew food was important I didn't really appreciate HOW important it is.

Eating 'right' is not just for weight loss but it is also crucial for performance... be that at work, in the a sporting arena or in the battlefield.

The Zone eating plan is considered the best for providing enough energy for exercise and day to day tasks but also for keeping blood sugar levels steady to avoid cravings for nasty food!

In essence the Zone is all about the amount of food you eat and the proportion of good fats, proteins and carbs on each and every plate of food each day.

This approach of balancing the macro nutrients is to balance your hormonal response and lessen the high surges of insulin which are released in reaction to high sugar content foods.

Googling the 'deadly quartet' and reading about the affect of high sugar/carb based eating choices makes is astounding-
