Sat 170410: 20min Gymnastic AMRAP & A proud coach!

I'm super proud of the effort Marga, Phil and John put in today!

The following is what I see in these awesome people, and is a privilege to witness...

At CrossFit Christchurch, our priority is getting people to move well i.e. in a coordinated athletic fashion.

Next we add strength, because we all could do with being stronger, and then we graft on some metabolic conditioning i.e. the heart and lungs type movements.

These can be running, gymnastic or weight-lifiting movements or a combination. Typically anything that gets you moving for more than 30 seconds continuously.

Today was about going a little longer than normal (3-12minutes) and challenging stamina, strength and cardiovascular ability - as well as the potential intangibles of determination and commitment.

Nothing makes me prouder as a coach to witness the intangibles... Why?

Simple... Having the mental fitness, regardless of current physical condition, will over time produce the necessary physical adaptations.

Many that start off with talent and no mental aptitude flail and flounder when things get hard...

All changes start in the mind, if you want something begin on a path towards it... One step at a time... that's all it takes.

REMEMBER: Take one step towards where you want to be and you are living the dream! ;-)
